Welcome to See Spirit Grow, a website designed to offer information, resources and support to individuals and communities experiencing or desiring to experience spiritual growth and formation, or spiritual development.

What is spiritual development?  Spiritual development is the process of seeking balance between the desire to connect with God, humanity and the natural world and the desire to be a separate and unique being.  It is witnessed through experiences that move people from focusing on self and cause them to recognize their role in the greater scheme of life.  These experiences are sometimes described as "mountaintop" or  "peak" experiences or "ah ha" moments.  Spiritual development occurs when people seeks and understands their reason  for being by learning about themselves, themselves in relation to others, and themselves in relation to God. It is a fundamental part of every individual's development and is as encompassing as one's mental, social, psychological and physical development.

Spiritual development occurs in many different arenas of a person's life, the most obvious being when that person practices his or her faith or religious beliefs. See Spirit Grow presents information from a Christian perspective, and within that Christian perspective, it focuses on spiritual development from a learning perspective.  The primary goal is to first help individuals and communities understand themselves better, and in the process of doing so, begin to realize what their purpose for being is. Often, once the individual or community understands their reason for existing and what skills and abilities they have that support that reason,  people experience leaps in growth, and the very ideal that Christ modeled, that of living as loving members of a community the way God intended, begins to emerge.

In the following pages, both individuals seeking self-understanding and those who help individuals attain spiritual development will find ideas and information, programs, curriculums,  consultation information and other help, no matter where you are on your journey of spiritual development.  Enjoy and Grow!
